When I used to hear Power point ,I would immediately think power nap is more like it. Since learning about 10/20/ 30 and all of the things that I can do to make it a presentation, has made a world of difference. I have shared this knowledge with a lot of people ,especially after we were subjected to a 30 plus slide Power point at a conference .
It had slides full of text, few images, annoying sounds, tricks, and the dreaded graphs. There was one highlight…the end. If that wasn’t bad enough I was then subjected to another awful 45 minute Power point in a workshop that was only text and was accompanied with a handout of the slides. It was at that moment, I think I came close to knowing what the definition of torture truly meant.
From that point, I vowed to never torture anyone with Power point. Ten(10) slides, twenty(20) minutes or less and no less than a thirty(30) font is my new mantra. I will only think of it as a presentation tool. I have only done one Power point in my whole life and I would like to send out an apology to all of my classmates that were subjected to it. I promise it will not happen again.
